You are invited to submit original artworks and short films for “Bridge Songs: ?rogress”, our arts and music experience coming this June 17-19, as well as our new extended exhibit running from June 17th – July 5th as part of The Works Festival!

I would like my work to be considered for the following (check all that apply):

(Please note: The Feature Gallery will be juried, based on artistic merit but also relevance to theme and cohesion with other submissions. Only 3-4 artists will be selected due to space limitations. Those not selected for the Feature Gallery will have the option to have their work displayed in the Event Space instead).

___Feature Gallery (exhibition dates are June 17 – July 5, 2011, submission deadline April 15, 2011)

___Event Space (the Event dates are June 17-19, 2011, submission deadline May 31, 2011)

___Short Film Presentation (presented in the Event Space, submission deadline May 31, 2011)

Submissions must include:

  • Artist’s statement (1 page max. Should include how the work connects to the theme)
  • Curriculum Vitae
  • Image list (including title, medium, date of creation, size)
  • Up to 10 digital images (JPEG format, max. 300 dpi)
  • DVD for video/film submissions or available online (VIMEO, YouTube, etc) for review

We are looking for many different explorations of the theme and many different art forms and media. Your form and submission package can be emailed to art@BridgeSongs.ca or brought to an Urban Bridge Church (MacEwan University, 105th street building) or City Centre Church gathering (Paramount Theatre any Sundays between 10 AM and 12 PM).

Artwork Drop Off Dates

All work must be dropped off at Nina Haggerty Centre for the Arts (9225 118th Ave) on June 15, 2011 between 10:00 a.m. and 5:00 p.m.

Bridge Songs reserves the right to refuse submissions not in accordance with the theme, not suitable for a general audience (including families with children) or not meeting an acceptable artistic standard. We may also refuse submissions due to available space. All applicants will be notified about the result of their submission. Please be advised that any work that is displayed must be picked up by the artist WITHIN FOUR DAYS OF THE EXHIBITION CLOSE DATE IF INCLUDED IN THE FEATURE GALLERY (by July 9, 2011), or after the event (5 PM, Sunday, June 19, 2011).
