For a while now we’ve chatted on this site about reading Rob Bell’s Velvet Elvis together. I think many of us, as myself, have begun reading, only to find no discussion. Whoops.
I’ll be honest as to the reasons this discussion has been delayed. It’s been a busy few weeks for my wife and thus for my family and something’s gotta give in times like these. This gave, which is a decision I’m fine with, but I’d like to get into it now if you’re still game, folks.
Another reason for delay is the system of HOW we would do such a discussion. We’ve chatted about Google Wave and about a live chat feature – which I did set up on this site for this very purpose. However, logging on at a set time for live chat is difficult for me right now, and I’m not sure the benefits outweigh that huge obstacle. Because I don’t want to push this back any farther, we’re going to go with what we know – commenting on posts. It’s worked well for us so far, and if we find reasons why it’s not working well in this instance, I’ll know exactly what needs to be tweaked, rather than trying ot iron out the kinks on something we’ve never even tried.

So, I’ll post a comment below about each section mentioned above, with some primers for discussion, and you reply under the appropriate section with your thoughts. I’m not sure how to proceed with a discussion like this, to be honest, so let’s help each other learn.
